How to install Tango AudioConferencing system on your machine
1. UNIX
After the compressed file is downloaded to your local machine, you need
to follow this procedure to install Tango AudioConferencing system:
- Uncompress and unpack the distribution file
For example, for SGI paltform, uncompress ncstango.irix.tar.Z,
tar -xvf ncstango.irix.tar. This will install a NCS system directory called NCStango on your machine.
- Setup/modify one environment variable used by the Tango Audio system:
- NCS_TANGO_PATH:
suppose you uncompressed the file ncstango.irix.tar in the directory $HOME:
setenv NCS_TANGO_PATH $HOME/NCStango
- Setup/modify Tango applications configuration file:
- change directory to a directory where you installed plugin
- change directory to a directory called: conf
- edit the file: applications.conf
- in a line which begins with 37 (Audio application identification number)
change the path (next field in the line) to: $HOME/NCStango/CM/
- If you want to use Audio Conferencing system:
- Start Tango from the Netscape browser: http://www.npac.syr.edu.tango/CA/Tango.html
- Click on AudioConference and then on Open Local Application button
