Before exiting, an MPI application it is courteous to clean up the MPI state and MPI_FINALIZE does this. No MPI routine may be called in a given process after that process has called MPI_FINALIZE
for C: int MPI_Finalize()
for Fortran: MPI_FINALIZE(mpierr)
  • mpierr is an integer
