Foil 91 Java Security Package

From Basic Principles of Java and Internet Security CPS616 Web Technologies -- Spring 98. by Geoffrey C. Fox

1 Because applets under Java 1.0&1 were so closely supervised through the sandbox mechanism , they could not perform some useful functions.
2 It is useful and necessary for users to be able to assign different levels of security with respect to provider of applets.
  • Applets from trusted sites may have all the privileges of local applications.
3 The java.security package contains libraries for insuring the integrity of data and for electronic signatures.
