Foil 27 Forms and CGI Scripting

1 Forms are used to allow the user to send information from the browser back to the server.
2 The server must provide a program, called a CGI script, that will process the user information and provide an appropriate response.
  • The information from the form is encoded in a message according to the Common Gateway Protocol and sent to the web server, along with the URL of the CGI script.
  • The server executes the CGI script, passing the encoded information.
