1 Accessibility: the ability to access an instructional components from one remote location and deliver it to many other locations
2 Interoperability: the ability to use instructional components developed in one location with one set of tools or platform in another location with a different set of tools or platform
3 Durability: instructional components do not require redesign or re-coding to operate when base technology changes
4 Re-usability: the design of an instructional components so that it can be incorporated into multiple applications
5 Cost-Effectiveness: significantly increase learning effectiveness while reducing time and costs
