Foil 35 Significant improvement in HPF needed but seems possible for Particle in the Cell

1 Multiple phase problems such as
  • Particle in cell (PIC)
  • (Un)structured multigrid
2 Needs to express "alignment" between phases (different levels of multigrid, particles and grid for PIC) and then optimize distribution and redistribution between phases.
3 Irregular problems of this type are only suitable for MIMD.
4 Very irregular cases with mismatches between phases perform poorly even on MIMD.
