Upto now, computers have been useful but not revolutionary in education
In 1983, I installed several million dollars worth of computers at Caltech with an IBM grant. We did not fail but word processing, some electronic mail and games were main use of machines. They were helpful but not a paradigm shift
Further distance education using current technology
i.e. analog video delivery of static high quality curricula combined with
modest student--teacher interactions
Has also only been a modest success -- has only a small "market share"
