This involves a single secret key and standards are DES (Digital Encryption Standard) and IDEA (International Data Encryption Algorithm)
Commercial systems (used in SSL) are RC2 RC4 RC5
  • Note 40 bit RC2 takes a 64 MIP computer one year to break
