Maxwell Agenda 96

Welcome to the Maxwell Agenda 96 Web Site, a joint project of Syracuse University's Northeast Parallel Architectures Center (NPAC) and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. This experimental World Wide Web site explores the potential of using information technologies to enhance public participation in the political process and is built around the election-year lecture series: "Leadership, Public Service and the American Agenda."

In late February, Rep. Newt Gingrich, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, kicked off the series with a 90-minute discussion with graduate students at the Maxwell School and via satellite with graduate students at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Multimedia coverage of this lively discussion is presented here in 77 sections: each containing text transcript, summary image, video, and audio. Other experimental capabilities for interactivity are also available at this web site.
