ANNOUNCEMENT

You are cordially invited to
a public demonstration of facilities and projects
at the newly established
"Center for Really Neat Research" (CRNR)
located at 500 University Place at the CoRNeR of Comstock
Syracuse, NY

Friday, February 14, 1997
2:00-5:00 PM

Please consult our Web site, http://www.pulsar.org for information on our projects concerning human-computer interface technologies for people with disabilities. These feature inexpensive sensors and interface modules used in conjunction with free custom software. The goals are to provide communication, educational, and entertainment resources, while enabling such individuals to control their environments. Eyal Sherman, a quadriplegic teenager who has been part of our team for the past year, will help us demonstrate some prototype expressional interface technologies. The team includes a number of SU students (bioengineering, industrial design, physics, computer science, etc.) and some visitors. The industrial design students will have on display their models of the "intelligent environments of the future" which are being prototyped at CRNR.
For further information, contact:
Dave Warner (davew@npac.syr.edu) or
Ed Lipson (edlipson@syr.edu)
or else call CRNR at 443-2629.
This research is conducted in collaboration with
the Northeast Parallel Architectures Center at Syracuse University
and the Institute for Interventional Informatics based in San Diego.
