5.Case Study: Collaborative Data Visualization

Scientific data visualization is concerned with exploring data and information to gain insight and understanding of the data. It has proven to be a very useful to many areas. In this paper, as case study of collaborative computing, I will analysis the architecture of collaborative data visualization systems.

Basically, there are two architectures for collaborative data visualization systems: replicated architecture and centralized architecture. For replicated architecture, multiple copies of the same software running on every machine and there is a component is responsible for synchronization between each user. On the other hand, all the inputs from different user are send to a central server in a centralized architecture.
