On 26 February Paul Coddington met with Peter Davies, CEO of Askari Inc., a Wall Street financial modeling company, to discuss joining Infomall and engaging in a collaborative project to develop part of a financial simulation program to run on multi-processor Windows NT workstations. NPAC is hosting a number of Web sites in collaboration with EmpireWeb, an Infomall Mid-Hudson company. In the past 3 months we have worked with them and their clients to install Web-based discussion software, and to fix problems and install improvements to their own in-house Web-based software. NPAC has an ongoing project with Community School Networks Inc, an Internet access provider, to develop Web software for collaboration and communication, to be used primarily by K-12 teachers and students with very little experience with computers, including New York state schools involved in the Goals 2000 and Constellation projects for the advancement of K-12 education. NPAC also provides consulting and help in implementing and using the latest Web technologies. An NPAC researcher meets with CSNet staff about once every 2 weeks, with more frequent discussions via email.
