As the world leader in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, Carrier is committed to continually improving the quality of comfort we provide to our customers.
But our level of responsibility extends well beyond...
Carrier Corporation has identified six specific areas of concentration which directly impact how we, as a world manufacturer, balance our customers' needs for comfort with the environment's needs for responsible consumption. Each area is described below.
Each one of us at Carrier Corporation believes that, for generations to come, success will be measured not only by the quality of our products and systems, but also by how we have improved the quality of life.
Refrigerant
To help alleviate concerns about stratospheric ozone depletion caused by the release of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerants, Carrier North American Operations will focus its future product development efforts on products that use chlorine-free refrigerants.
Air Distribution
With the increasing interest in proper ventilation relative to thermal comfort, Carrier will focus its products to provide superior ventilation systems.
Product Efficiency
The business of living demands that we conserve energy. Given that reality, conserving energy efficiently and reducing consumption whenever possible is the only responsible approach. Carrier products enable our customers to reduce energy consumption while maintaining optimum comfort levels.
Indoor Air Quality
Air quality is a vital issue, particularly as conditioned spaces are built tighter to conserve energy. Carrier will provide the best in products to help spaces breathe, remove pollutants and uphold the highest possible air quality standards.
Product Size/Material Reduction
As equipment is replaced to improve efficiency and in our move away from CFC refrigerants, equipment size will be a factor. Carrier's focus is on smaller size products which in turn have built-in storage, easily fit into existing buildings, take up less space, require less packaging and use fewer raw materials.
Sound
Though often overlooked, another aspect of the natural environment that is well worth preserving is quiet. Carrier's aero-acoustics and vibration specialists are dedicated to pursuing new materials and designs that will make our products -- already the quietest in their respective classes -- just that much quieter.
