Groups

Use this page to add and delete groups, and to add or remove users in a group. Once you've created a list of groups, you control their access to web pages and other server resources using the Access Control page. By creating groups of users you can assign access to web resources more efficiently than if you assigned access to individual users.

For a selected group, Jeeves displays the list of users who are members of that group, and the name of the security realm to which the group is assigned.

To see the groups in a different realm: choose the name of the realm from the list of realms at the bottom of the page.

To create a group:

  1. Select the realm in which you want to add the group.
  2. In the Create Group Named field, type the name of the group you want to create.
  3. Press Return.

To add a user to a group:

  1. Select the realm that contains the group.
  2. Select the group to which you want to add a user.
  3. In the Add User to Group field, type the name of the user you want to create.
  4. Press Return.

To delete a user from a group:

  1. Select the realm that contains the group.
  2. Select the group that contains the user you want to delete.
  3. Select the user.
  4. Click Delete Member.

To delete a group:

Note: Before you can delete the group, you must first delete all the group's members.

  1. Select the realm that contains the group.
  2. Select the group that you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete Group.
