Users

This page lets you view, add, edit, or delete the list of users who have access to server web pages and other resources (such as servlets). Once you've created a list of users, you control their access using the Access Control page.

Each account consists of a username and password, and is associated with a specific security realm within the server. This page displays the list of users in a specific security realm. To assign a the same user different sets of access privileges, you assign the user to more than one realm.

To see the users in a different realm: choose the name of the realm from the list of realms at the bottom of the page.

To add a new user to a realm:

1. Select the realm in which you want to add the user.
2. For User Name, enter the name of the user account.
3. For Password, enter the password for that user account.
4. For Verify Password, enter that same password again.
5. Click Add.

1. Add the user to the adminRealm security realm.
2. Go to the Access Control section of the administrative web page.
3. Select the adminRealm security realm.
4. Select the adminAcl access control list.
5. Add the user to this access control list, and assign them the GET privilege.
6. Using the new account, log in to Jeeves to verify that this user can log in and get access to the administration web page.

To add a user to a group that has administrative privileges:

1. Add the user to the adminRealm security realm.
2. Go to the "Groups" section of the administrative web page.
3. Select the adminRealm security realm.
4. Add the user to the adminGroup group.
5. Go to the "Access Control" section of the administrative web page.
6. Select the adminRealm.
7. Select the adminAcl.
8. Make sure that the selected group has been granted the GET privilege. If it has not been granted that privilege, grant it.
9. Using the new account, log in to Jeeves to verify that this user can log in and get access to the administration web page.

To change a user's password:

1. Select the realm that contains the user account you want to change.
2. For User Name, enter the user's name.
3. Enter a new password.
4. Re-enter the password.
5. Click Modify.

To change a user's name: Select the user, delete it, and re-enter it.

To delete a user account from a realm:

Note: Do not delete the "admin" user account.

1. Select the realm that contains the account you want to delete.
2. From the list of users, select the name of the user account that you want to delete.
3. Click Delete.
