The two sweeps of LU benchmark are just as you get in Gauss Seidel if you
  • First solve equations 1,2.... Ntot (Ntot=N 3NAS)
  • Then sweep backwards solving Ntot, Ntot-1, ... 1
This is classic SSOR structure shown below:
