uses two types of compression - H.261 and H.263
YUV9 version for LANs in development
Variable codecs support adaptability
Supports multicast
Implements RTP
Video formats: QCIF, CIF
H.263 vs. H.261
The same quality with 30-50% of bits usage
Performance: ~5 fps for H.263, 7-9 fps for H.261, 15 fps for YUV9 for QCIF
Bitrates: 20-50 kbps for H.263, up to 128 kps for H.261, up to 0.5 Mpbs for YUV9
