1 Text: To hold letters, punctuation and spaces, as well as numbers that are not used in calculations, such as postal codes and phone numbers. A rich text field to hold pictures, graphs, hotspots, attachments and embedded objects.
2 Numbers and Formulas: To hold numbers that you will use in mathematical formulas. Number field can hold characters 0 - 9, -, +, ., E and e
3 Times and Dates: To hold time and date information that appears as letters and numbers separated by punctuation
