- During SC'09, Shava met with Lavanya Ramakrishnan who is working on the Magellan project at LBL. This is a DOE project with ANL. They are interested in collaborating with us on our performance work and everybody agreed it would be a fruitful collaboration. Plan to touch base with them early next year.
- Meeting with Penguin computing at SC'09 went well -- they are interested in distributing their hardware at some FutureGrid site(s) and splitting access to the machines -- Geoffrey following up -- potential impact -- more machines to benchmark/access/monitor
- Reviewed writeup status -- not much progress since SC but most people feel they will have time to complete their sections before the xmas break
- Reviewed overlap between Vampir and Experiment Harness once experiment started - should be complimentary -- leverage OTF
- Reviewed overlap between Vampir and Pegasus in the role of FutureGrid instrumentation (for performance monitoring) - should be complimentary
- Also overlap between Experiment Harness and Pegasus -- needs to be defined - also talked about in software call later that day
- Raphael spoke with Grid5000 folks and got an allocation of accounts for FutureGrid -- will start some experiments there -- Grid5000 has 5 years of experience over FutureGrid
