Description

Networking issues are prohibiting proper use of Eucalyptus on FutureGrid. We are working together with the Eucalyptus development team to debug and overcome this problem. For the time being, the FG team recommends that you use Nimbus services. See more details about Nimbus in our Manual: http://archive.futuregrid.org/using/clouds
We anticipate furthermore that the Eucalyptus service will not be available during SC11.

Resolution

The xen network bridge (xenbr0) was not attaching the network interface (eth0) properly. Even though the instances were running, we weren't able to connect to them. This started after we applied the server wide redhat update.

Removing xen, reinstalling and rebooting the nodes fixed the issue. All services are running now. Please report if you notice any issues.
