e-Science 2008 4th IEEE International Conference on e-Science

Venue, Hotels & Travel

The e-Science 2008 conference will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States.

The planned site is the University Place Conference Center & Hotel at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Indiana University’s second-largest campus.

Indianapolis, or “Indy,” has a population of more than 785,000, making it the thirteenth-largest city in the United States. Indy is also the capital and largest city in the state of Indiana, which is known as the “Crossroads of America.” Appropriately, Indianapolis is within a day’s drive of half the nation’s population. With great shopping, restaurants, museums, nightlife, sporting events, and other attractions, there is always plenty to do in Indy.

Additional information about hotels and travel will be added as it is finalized.

Air Travel

The Indianapolis International Airport offers travel on 11 major airlines and is less than 15 minutes away from downtown Indianapolis.

Hotels

A limited number of rooms have been reserved at a group rate for the IEEE eScience Conference at the beautiful Conrad Indianapolis Hotel, but there is still currently plenty of availability. Transportation to and from the hotel to the conference venue will be provided in the mornings and evenings. To receive the workshop rate, accommodations must be booked no later than Saturday, November 15, 2008.

The workshop rate for attendees is $149 per night for a single rate and $179 per night for a double, plus local taxes and fees (currently 16%).

Accommodations can be booked at the workshop rate by calling (317) 713-5000 and referencing the IEEE eScience Workshop room block or by going online at www.conradindianapolis.com and entering the conference code IEE in the field labeled Group/Convention Code (please note, the group code is IEE NOT IEEE). If the Web site claims there is no availability even after entering the code, please call the hotel to book your room and tell them you are with the IEEE eScience conference.
