New FutureGrid Tutorials for Pegasus Workflow Management and HPSS Storage

New tutorials are now available to support users in making the most out of FutureGrid's resources.

WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT

Three of the tutorials focus on running workflow experiments using Pegasus.

The Pegasus  4.0 FutureGrid Walkthrough for novice users covers creating a workflow, submitting, monitoring, debugging, and generating
run statistics at a high level. As concepts and tools are introduced, links to the main Pegasus documentation are provided.

The Pegasus Tutorial Using a Virtual Machine is an intermediate level tutorial that takes users through the process of mapping and executing
workflows using Pegasus, Monitoring, Debugging and Statistics, as well as Advanced Exercises with Data Reuse and Hierarchical Workflows.

The Advanced Pegasus Tutorial Using a Virtual Machine uses a fully-configured Condor cluster that runs entirely within FutureGrid. A special feature of the Nimbus cloud client is used to bring up the cluster.  Eligible FutureGrid systems include hotel, sierra and foxtrot.

STORAGE

A new tutorial is also available for storage.  The Using HPSS from FutureGrid Tutorial provides instructions for using IU's Scholarly Data
Archive (SDA), formerly known as MDSS, from FutureGrid.   This is available only for IU faculty, staff, and students.
