OpenStack Essex Deployed on FutureGrid

We are happy to announce the deployment of OpenStack Essex (http://www.openstack.org/projects/essex/) on FutureGrid.

OpenStack Essex is now available on India.  Essex replaces Cactus, which is no longer supported on FutureGrid.

Essex provides the following new features:

- Automatic public ip association
- Much more stable instance deployment
- Keystone: Common authentication system for all OpenStack projects
- Enhancements to feature parity among the tier one hypervisors making it a seamless user experience across each hypervisor

In addition we have integrated the account management with FutureGrid portal accounts. Nova credentials and configuration files are automatically created for all valid users and placed in the home directory on India under the .futuregrid/openstack folder.
