Abstract

Test integration of a policy engine into the data transfer mechanisms of workflow and other grid processing systems. The initial testing will be with the Pegasus workflow management system.

Intellectual Merit

By applying policy logic to data placement, we hope to show how larger, virtual organizations can better manage their data sharing and other resources leading to better utilization of those resources.

Broader Impacts

Data management has applicability to other large scale grid processing environments that may not utilize a workflow manager.
