Hunting the Higgs Boson with Matrix Element Methods

Abstract

This project is performing a search for evidence of a Standard Model Higgs boson in date from proton-antiproton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron accelerator.
This computing project performs a series of Matrix Element calculations representing production and decay mechanisms for Higgs and background processes. These calculations used to generate probability maps to in multivariate analyses designed to optimize signal sensitivity.
