Biosimulation test using GPUs
Abstract
This pilot project will implement a GPU test version of a simulation of cardiovascular control with focus on medullary sympathetic outflow and baroreflex.
Intellectual Merit
This is primarily a feasibility test.
Broader Impact
Our current MATLAB based simulations modeling physiological processes would benefit from the acceleration potential provided by GPU/HPC computing.
Use of FutureGrid
FutureGrid provides a testbed for this experiment in HPC/GPU computing.
Scale Of Use
Beginning with a single GPU node, if successful, testing an MPI/CUDA version on the cluster.
