Some of the scenarios may seem more obvious than others, but we believe all are entirely possible.

The impression of the scenarios may be that they encompass much more than just multimedia. However:

The technical advances that multimedia will enable may have a dramatic effect on the business organization. For example, multimedia data types will require high bandwidth corporate networks. The availability of these networks will enable other technologies that were constrained by network bandwidth and that may significantly contribute to the description of the worlds outlined in the scenarios. While these effects have broadened the scope of the multimedia scenarios, the attempt was made to
limit discussion of these changes so as not to lose sight of the multimedia aspects.
